Anomalies in Quantum Field Theory and Cohomologies of Configuration Spaces
In this paper we study systematically the Euclidean renormalization in configuration spaces. We investigate also the deviation from commutativity of the renormalization and the action of all linear partial differential operators. This deviation is the source of the anomalies in quantum field theory, including the renormalization group action. It also determines a Hochschild 1–cocycle and the re...

R. A. HEFFERLIN Physics Department, Southern Adventist University, PO Box 370, Collegedale, TN 37315, USA E-mail: he [email protected] In the discrete chemical spaces where periodic systems of atoms and molecules are constructed, it is routine to estimate properties of target molecules by interpolation. This interpolation is no more and no less than the numerical solution of the Laplace equatio...
متن کاملAlgebraic K - Theory and Configuration Spaces
Its importance lies in the fact that the right hand side of the above equivalence (which wewill briefly refer to as a configuration space model) is a much smaller space than the function space on the left, and thus is much easier to deal with. The second author noted that in the configuration space model, one can replace the X" by spaces like BGln(R). For there is an obvious ~n action on BGln(R...
متن کاملMin-type Morse theory for configuration spaces of hard spheres
In this paper we study configuration spaces of hard spheres in a bounded region. We develop a general Morse-theoretic framework and show that mechanically balanced configurations play the role of critical points. As an application, we find the precise threshold radius for a configuration space to be homotopy equivalent to the configuration space of points.
